Welcome to Rapidan Farm an 18 thousand acre estate and agricultural property located in Culpeper Virginia
Staged by Riegle Home Staging assisted by J-Squared Staging for a Christies private auction through M. Schwartz of Premiere Estates in CA. This is a large home with marble flooring throughout the living and dining room, and a unique, time gone by, setting for the bedrooms with a Gentleman’s room and a Ladies room adjoined by a sun room to enjoy time together.
Balancing old world style with new day trends was fun and fast as we had only one week to work our magic!
A pair of young magnolias set in tall urns created a nice welcome to the front doors.
Flowers and circular table welcome buyers to this beautiful home.
My first introduction to Rapidan left me with images of many men working feverishly painting and repairing the plaster of this room. Pleasantly surprised a few weeks later we were able to enjoy staging this long room into two sitting areas. An oriental screen suggested faraway lands once traveled and palms softened the four corners.
The odd little room in the corner…doesn’t ever old house have one? Johnathan had his way with this library and worked his magic balancing the older wooden desk and new smoky grey fabric chair. Again, a touch of Asian flair from the corner chair tied together the living room and library.
The oval walls were beautiful and begged for a stately table. I created an enormous hydrangea floral arrangement balanced in a mercury glass taurine. Sometimes all you need are hydrangeas to invoke the appearance of grace and elegance.
Bright light of the upstairs rooms bathed this room in peachy pinks. Custom bedding by Johnathan made this room very special.
While we didn’t change anything by the pool area I could surely see Humphry Boggart under the cabana smoking a cigar and swirling a scotch…or is it Charlton Hesston swimming laps?
Tennis anyone? Or…did someone plant the corn yet? This property yields the greatest amount of corn for alcohol in all of Virginia.
